How come I didn't remember a thing about it?

Because I just bought the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth" a week ago
Yesterday, while my mom was cleaning the house, she found a book that looks like belong to me
My mom gave the book to me and to my shock it was the exact same book that i bought a week ago
In my head, I was like "When did i buy this book?"
I didn't even remember that I bought that book
Right now, i feel so guilty to my mom because the book is actually a bit expensive
So now i have two books "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth"
I'm thinking of selling the other book but I don't know who will buy that book
